Have you ever wondered why mosquitos are attracted to some people but not others? ???? One theory seems to lie in our ability to breakdown carbs and sugar! I learned a while ago that those with a need for B vitamins are more prone to insect bites – specifically, vitamin B1 or thiamine. Why? Because vitamin B1 helps us break down carbs more effectively. As you may know, our skin is an elimination pathway. If carbs/sugars aren’t metabolized properly, the chemical byproducts can be eliminated through the skin. This is what’s suspected to make some people more...

Natural Allergy Relief Infusion
I’ve been getting many messages asking about natural remedies for allergy relief. Enter herbal infusions!
Stinging nettle (leaf) can help ease seasonal allergies like itchiness, runny nose/eyes, sneezing, etc. but adding onion peels – the secret ingredient to my secret ingredient soup – takes it to the next level.
Why? Because onion peels are rich in quercetin (pronounced kwehr-suh-tin) which is a natural anti-histamine that calms the immune system to reduce or prevent histamine release.
And stinging nettle leaf (very important: leaf, not root) has shown to have...

Liver has the highest source of bioavailable vitamin A, meaning it’s in a form (retinol) that can be directly used by the body unlike plant sources of vitamin A (carotene) which need to be converted to retinol.
What is vitamin A good for?✔️Epithelial integrity: skin, urinary tract, lungs, GI lining, blood brain barrier✔️Immunity & tissue repair: without it can get chronic infections like UTI’s & slow healing✔️Mucus formation in lungs, sinus cavities & mouth preventing...

Hydration Tip
Are you thirsty despite drinking plenty of water throughout the day? Do you find yourself avoiding water to prevent bathroom trips every 2 minutes? Drinking water does not necessarily mean you’re absorbing it. Please watch my video below for an easy tip on staying hydrated:

Homemade Cough Remedy
When I have a cough, I reach for a demulcent which helps soothe irritated tissue and moisten the mucus membranes.
A demulcent is indicated when there is a dry irritable cough with little expectoration. Expectorants increase the flow of mucus and help expel thick excess mucus from the lungs.
Flaxseed is both a demulcent and an expectorant, and the below cough remedy has worked wonders for myself and my family. #foodismedicine
