• 🧠 Is Your Gut Affecting Your Mood?

Most people think a chemical imbalance in the brain causes mood issues, but here’s something you might not know: your mood is deeply connected to your gut.

The majority of the neurotransmitters that influence how we feel are actually produced in the gut microbiome — that invisible organ living inside us.

      For example:
💚 90% of serotonin (your feel-good hormone) is produced in the gut.
💚 Certain gut microbes help produce dopamine precursors (for motivation and reward).
💚 Others produce GABA (calming and anti-anxiety effects).

So, how do we support a healthy gut for a happier mood?
👉 Eat fermented foods like coconut kefir, sauerkraut, and kimchi to bring in beneficial bacteria.
👉 Increase your fiber intake — your gut microbes feed on it.
👉 Avoid processed foods, alcohol, and artificial sweeteners, which can disrupt your microbiome.

If you’re histamine intolerant, start slowly — just 1–2 teaspoons of coconut kefir a day — and build up from there.

✨ If you want inspiration, my book UNJUNK is packed with gut-friendly recipes, and you can find even more fermented food ideas right here in B Better.

Remember: a healthier gut often means a happier, calmer, more balanced you.
