    Hi,

Please have him checked for gastric parietal cell antibody and intrinsic fsctor. This is a blood test. Please also check for his methylmalonic malonic acid blood test. He will need to have regular endoscopy. Every couple of years. I have focal atrophic gastritis and take B12 injections and folate. He needs to ensure that he’s on a low acid food diet, no spicy, oily, processed foods and refined sugar foods.

    Hi B. <div>
</div><div>Thanks so much for your response and for breaking everything down – really fascinating stuff. </div><div>
</div><div>I checked out your podcast with Geoffrey and found it super interesting. It made me think about how some supplements I might be taking could not be effective because of an energy blockage in my body. That really explains why he asked me to pause certain supplements when I first met him. </div><div>
</div><div>I’m planning to visit him again soon, as I mentioned before. He talked about a free course during your chat with him – is that one in person? </div><div>

    <div>B. </div>

I have been taking the following B1 supplements since October 2024: Mega Extensions Benfotiamine and Ecological Formulas Allithiamine.

    <div>
</div><div>Regarding selenium, I have not been taking it.</div><div>
</div><div>Previously, I had no awareness of any heart-related symptoms, apart from occasional shortness of breath when feeling anxious or off-balance, which I assumed was due to a nutritional deficiency.</div><div>
</div><div>I believe COVID has played a significant role in my overall health issues when compared to before.</div><div>
</div><div>I also appreciate the potential link to mould exposure, though addressing it is challenging. With mum living in the house, and the home being adapted to her needs, she struggles to understand the impact of mold and is reluctant to leave, which complicates remediation efforts.</div>

Having said this, I’ve implemented Jill Crista’s course, “whilst living in mould.”

    Hi B. <div>
    </div>

    No problem at all.

<div> I was wondering about the best way to replenish lost electrolytes. Do you think it would be okay to add some Himalayan pink salt to the water, or should I go for actual electrolyte sachets instead? </div><div>
</div><div>If adding salt is a good option, how about just a pinch in around 250ml? Let me know what you think!</div>

    Hi B.

I will need to revisit this.

I was WONDERING why there isn’t a lamb or beef kidney DAO supplement and why only porcine DAO

    Hi B.

Finding a DAO which isn’t pork derived is difficult. I tried NATURESDAO from Spain, I believe. It made no difference.

I take quercetin, taking vitamin C ( will switch to buffered version) and drink nettle tea.

Thank you for the article. Will read it.

    Good morning B.

Not sure why Direct Bilirubin isn’t on the NHS. To be honest, there are lot of markers that are not included on the NHS in other areas. For example, thyroid markers.

Could I approach better bile flow in another away if betaine HCl intake which I restarted yesterday is very low. I am taking digestive enzymes.

December 26, 2024 at 12:28 pm in reply to: Vitamin C

    Thanks B.

Is there a blood test to check for vitamin C? I’ve asked my GP, but he says there isn’t. I’ll look for an alternative in a capsule form.

Vitamin C marker is in the OATS test, but Mosaic say that that it’s inaccurate. Below is customer services response back in January 2023.

    ——-

    Hi Naveed,

I hope this email finds you well. Vitamin C is not produced by the human body. It is unstable in urine and will decay with time. Typically the value is very low in urine. An isomer (D-erthyroascorbic acid) can be produced by yeast overgrowth in the gut. This will be detected on the OAT test as identical to ascorbic acid. If it shows up in urine, this can either represent taking Vitamin C supplements, and/or is due to yeast overgrowth. Thus a low value has very little inherent information, while an elevated value can have informational value. However, to assess true vitamin C status as a vitamin, you need to measure it in blood serum, not urine.

    Hi Daniel,

It’s really good to hear from you, it has been a while. I just wanted to say that clearing (or significantly reducing) H. pylori definitely feels like a win for me.

As for how I managed to get rid of it, I honestly can’t say for sure. But I’ve stayed consistent with mastic gum, and I’ve also been supporting my gut with a combination of B vitamins, digestive enzymes, L-glutamine, zinc L-carnosine, marshmallow root, slippery elm powders and DGL. That’s pretty much been my ongoing protocol.

After my original post, I realizsed I forgot to mention that I’ve also been taking chicken feet. I’ve been adding them to chicken drumstick when making the stock to get extra collagen for repairing the gut lining. It’s been a regular part of my cooking now.

One thing I’m unsure about though, could parasites have come from the chicken feet? I’ve been really careful otherwise: I don’t eat out, haven’t been in contact with anyone ill, or travelled since 2017 and I always drink filtered water So it’s a bit of a mystery how I might’ve picked anything up.

Regarding the microbial imbalances, I’m now trying to figure out how to address Streptococcus and other dysbiosis. Any suggestions. I’m already doing vagal toning, diaphragmatic breathing, somatic work, and using the Pulsetto VNS device twice a day, which seems to help with overall regulation.

Separately, I’ve been thinking of investing in weights, especially since I have some knee misalignment issues. At the moment I’m just using green and yellow resistance bands, but I’ll send you a follow-up message with more details to get your thoughts on that.

Oh, and about Akkermansia, I’ve been taking a supplement called invivo health Mucin+ for about a month prior to testing, but I haven’t noticed any changes so far. You also mentioned Facealibacterium alongside Akkermansia in your post, I’d really appreciate your thoughts on how I might support both.

My symptoms remain the same: bloating, distension, pain, heartburn, acid reflux, fatigue, weakness, irritability, anxiety, mood swings, depression. Gastroparesis is the underlying cause. Unfortunately, I can’t tolerate Betaine HCl.

    I take these supplements :

L-glutamine, zinc, L-carnosine, digestive enzymes, slippery elm, marshmallow root, DGL, B vitamins (including B12 injections due to pernicious anemia), balanced omega 3 and 6 oil, phosphatidylcholine, vitamins A, D, K2 and quercetin.

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts when you get a moment.

    Take care,

    Naveed
